For almost 6 years, I moonlighted at the Oakland Layover Bar during the weekends as a bar-back. While I was doing that, I also began doing their design work. I created their monthly calendar postcards, print ads, digital ads, and also their posters. The idea behind the Layover is that it appeals to an eclectic customer. They did not want a defined brand outside of their logo. So when it came to the work I did, I was able to experiment quite a bit.

For the Layover Calendars, the focus was mostly on the illustration. We tried to get people in the door. People that love art and music.
